II.290] by Andy Warhol brings the two stone towers and cables of the Brooklyn Bridge into the unmistakable visual world of Pop Art. A repeated view of the bridge’s span, strong diagonals and architectural cables turns an engineering landmark into a vivid city image. The subject offers a distinctive way to explore the familiar infrastructure and visual identity of New York City. This poster is designed for contemporary wall display, with the image itself remaining the focal point.

About the Artwork and Brooklyn Bridge

Warhol made Brooklyn Bridge in 1983 to mark the centennial of the New York landmark. Produced for the Brooklyn Bridge Centennial celebrations, the original graphic also served as an event poster, connecting civic pride with his instantly recognizable visual language. The two views of the bridge and contrasting blocks of colour create an architectural image that works almost like a metropolitan logo.

Composition and colour: Two bridge views are placed in contrasting orange, yellow, blue and pink fields, emphasizing its cables and towers. The subject and design make an expressive addition to a thoughtfully chosen gallery wall, whether displayed alone or with other examples of twentieth-century graphic art.

Why this image matters: The subject is not simply decoration. It offers a way to consider the familiar infrastructure and visual identity of New York City. Warhol’s approach treats images that viewers may already know as material for a fresh visual encounter, where cropping, colour, typography or repetition can reshape their meaning.

Premium Matte Poster Paper

Your poster is produced on smooth, heavyweight uncoated paper with a non-reflective finish.
