II.16] by Andy Warhol brings Warhol’s own face treated as a repeated publicity image into the unmistakable visual world of Pop Art. The self-portrait turns the artist himself into a Pop Art subject, calling attention to self-presentation and artistic celebrity. The subject offers a distinctive way to explore the artist’s deliberately constructed public persona. This poster is designed for contemporary wall display, with the image itself remaining the focal point.

About the Artwork

Andy Warhol repeatedly drew upon existing photographs, advertising graphics and other familiar visual material. His art is often less about inventing a new subject than about changing how a well-known image is presented, circulated and remembered. Unexpected arrangements of familiar details create the graphic immediacy associated with Warhol’s Pop Art.

Composition and colour: Unexpected arrangements of familiar details create the graphic immediacy associated with Warhol’s Pop Art. The subject and design make an expressive addition to a thoughtfully chosen gallery wall, whether displayed alone or with other examples of twentieth-century graphic art.

Why this image matters: The subject is not simply decoration. It offers a way to consider the artist’s deliberately constructed public persona. Warhol’s approach treats images that viewers may already know as material for a fresh visual encounter, where cropping, colour, typography or repetition can reshape their meaning.

Premium Matte Poster Paper

Your poster is produced on smooth, heavyweight uncoated paper with a non-reflective finish.
